British Christians, past, present and future. Advice and strategies for the future success of each British Christian.
British Christians and the Coming Civil War! is in many ways both an encouraging yet shocking book for Christians in the UK and also globally.
It starts out very positively with a wonderfully powerful section of profiles of more than 40 great British Christians, male and female, over the last 300+ years, including what they did, how they followed God, and what we can learn from their lives. (These Christians are profiled from every country in the UK: England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales).
In section two the author gets down to describing the world* of the UK (and the West also) and identifies 20 enemies of (or hindrances to) the gospel operating in the UK and how to overcome them. Jerry Finch’s style of writing makes all this absolutely fascinating. (*as in 1 John 2:15-16)
In part three he moves on to his own experience of visiting and fellowshipping with White British Christians and churches across the UK over many years. We may sometimes feel something is wrong in some or many churches and their congregations, but here he goes into surprising detail about attitudes and obedience to the Word of God. Some of this is definitely not for the fainthearted.
Perhaps the real coup of this book is the ending, where, if you can survive part three, Jerry gives a lot of hope for the future and future service for Jesus in the UK (and the West).
Despite the spiritual deterioration of the Western world and a host of difficulties Christians face, this book is surprisingly upbeat in its clear suggestions and strategies for the future, most of which can be implemented on an individual or corporate level.
There are some absolutely brilliant thoughts, ideas and quotes scattered throughout this book which will stick with the reader, there is also a great deal of confirming and corroborating scripture throughout the text.
The book contains over 50 photos, primarily on the first profiles section
